Thousands roll in for Telford tattoo expo
Thousands of people visited Telford at the weekend to see some of the best tattoo artists from the world at the Tattoo Freeze convention.
Tattoo Freeze took place at Telford International Centre yesterday, with more than 7,000 people visiting the show’s activities, displays and demonstrations.
European ice sculpture champion Matt Foster was one of the special guests at the show, creating beautiful sculptures from large blocks of ice.

Graffiti artists created works of art on a huge ‘wall’ and ran workshops for younger visitors, and BMX riders and skateboarders put on demonstrations for visitors to enjoy.
There was also a national roller derby tournament, art galleries, a photo competition and live music on stage.
And henna tattoo artists, including Hennacat in Shrewsbury, gave visitors non-permanent body art in exchange for donations to charity. But the main attraction was the tattoo artists, with designers from Hungary, Switzerland, Norway, Germany, France and New York joining British artists to create unique art work for tattoo aficionados during the event.
There was also a demonstration of VW camper vans running in a separate area.
David Gamble, publisher of Skin Deep magazine which organised the event, said: “It was a very busy event. It was great to see people coming in and enjoying all the activities and demonstrations.”
He added: “It was nice to see people from the tattoo community and people from the VW community coming together as well, when you wouldn’t normally get those two groups of people together.”
