My intention as a woodfirer is to produce plain and natural beautiful pots for daily use. Compared to a conventional pot a woodfired vessel is more costly. Solely it is based on this firing technique that requires a lot of hard work and effort. Basically it should not come down to price and money but value – both the artistic and the manual work or craft as well as the ideel. In contrast to the vast area so called “art”, you will find ceramic which combines both art and craft as I would classify my work. It is approachable in consideration and use. Due to functionality, ceramic becomes “daily” and its expression beautifies and enriches our life and housing. I like to put my emphasis on – woodfired pottery conflicts attractively with these much too obsessed with new technologies and “perfect” surroundings.
